Purpose of the Role
As a Business/Functional Analyst, you will join the 'Design' unit of Studio Emma and work closely with your colleagues. You are the point of contact for various internal and external parties. Internally, you will work closely with the Project Manager, from whom you will receive assignments. You will collaborate with the design lead for UX/UI-related cases, with the Data Analyst for everything related to data structure and data flow strategy, and with the Lead Developer for technical feasibility.
In your role, you will be responsible for identifying the business needs of the client and the associated processes. You will map out the architecture and high-level data flows around the client's data management. You act as the bridge between the various stakeholders of the client and Studio Emma. Additionally, you have an advisory role to the business, where you pick up on new market developments and translate them into efficient insights. During the implementation, you oversee the fundamentals of the project.
Context
As a business analyst, you will critically address the client's request. It is important to understand the business well to develop correct processes and to see with the team how these processes can be supported. Together with the team, you will develop long-term solutions and present them to the client. In developing the business analysis, you will use standard methodologies.
Upon delivery, you ensure that what is delivered aligns with your design. You proactively signal problems to the Project Manager. Additionally, you are co-responsible for quality assurance. After project delivery, you remain involved to optimize and support business processes as needed.
Main Tasks
- You lay the foundation of a project and help determine the strategy.
- You create an overview of the client's needs and processes and analyze them. You map out the architecture and high-level data flows.
- You take a critical look at the processes and suggest possible improvements.
- You analyze complex issues.
- You develop requirement specifications (both functional and non-functional).
- You communicate your findings clearly. You interpret and answer questions from internal and external parties.
- You signal risks and bottlenecks to the Project Manager.
Specific Skills and Knowledge
- You have knowledge of techniques and methodologies within the field of functional analysis, such as ERD, UML diagrams, flowcharts, BPMN, etc.
- You conduct structured analysis of (non-) functional requirements.
- You manage to make correct judgments and think pragmatically with the client.
General Skills
- You are analytical and have a broad perspective. You can easily dissect and describe problems and manage to accurately capture the client's wishes.
- You are comfortable critically addressing client questions to arrive at sustainable solutions.
- You are a strong communicator and can talk to all levels within the company. You are convincing and adapt your communication style to your conversation partner.
- You dare to advise and can substantiate your findings and plans well to stakeholders.
- You have a creative mind and like to make connections. You enjoy solving puzzles.
- You work in a structured, orderly, and meticulous manner. You always tie up loose ends.
- You work independently and proactively.
- You know whom to consult within the company for various issues, and your strength lies in bringing together different viewpoints.
