SQAI Suite is the latest start-up in the Gumption group. SQAI, which sounds like "sky," stands for software quality powered by AI. The company is introducing a Virtual Test Engineer (VTE) that empowers quality assurance (QA) engineers to leverage the power of AI. The SaaS solution automates manual and time-consuming tasks, resulting in faster and higher-quality releases. As a customer, you get more quality assurance for your money.
QA engineers play a crucial role in the software product development cycle. They ensure the quality of the product before it reaches the end user. Nevertheless, QA teams are under time pressure today and often struggle to keep up with the growth of development teams.
More efficient testing processes
Many companies today are critically evaluating budgets and seeking efficiency gains. In 2023, Brightest launched an R&D working group focused on test automation with AI. Could AI make testing processes more efficient? The findings led to the development of a Virtual Test Engineer. The VTE automates QA tasks: requirement analysis, test case preparation, test automation scripting, test data generation, … QA engineers can be deployed more efficiently. They can focus more on improving test coverage and managing risks.
From the start, the team was able to draw on expertise from various group companies such as Brightest, Gumption BE and LU, AdaptX, Purple Panda, and CloudSisters. SQAI Suite is truly a co-creation story.

Promising interest
In 2024, 12 interested companies signed up for a proof of concept (POC). Among them are some impressive names! Their QA teams have access to the product for 4 weeks. Based on their feedback, the development team refines the solution. Meanwhile, the first POCs are being converted into licenses.
As of December 2024, the product is being further developed and commercialised by the start-up SQAI Suite. CEO Nick Pelicaen and CTO Willi Van Boven will lead the company to success. “We see the development of this VTE as the first step,” says Nick. “Soon, we aim to expand our QA buddy into other areas of the software development lifecycle, with even more smart AI solutions. SQAI Suite aims to be a frontrunner in the AI revolution, focusing on software analysis, development, and testing.”
