“We want to be the starting point for new opportunities for the group” says Sébastien Pierson, Gumption Luxembourg

Gumption Luxembourg is in great shape. Three challenges will leave their mark on 2022: boosting growth, diversifying activities and, finally, contributing to the international expansion of the group. Integration and complementarity are the key words of CEO Sébastien Pierson.

How is Gumption Luxembourg turning the “Co-create the future” tagline into reality?

“Gumption Luxembourg was formed in 2013 and brings together three of the group’s companies: V-Chain Luxembourg, TheValueChain Luxembourg and Bmatix Luxembourg. Our first challenge was to strengthen the synergies among these three entities and their associated companies in Belgium and capitalise on the complementarities. All of this in line with Gumption Belgium's policy and objectives.”

How do you go about this?

“We are diversifying and tackling sectors that Belgium does not invest in, such as the banking and insurance industry, which is widely represented in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.”

“Another objective we have set ourselves is to increase our local 360° offering by attracting members of the Gumption group that are not established in Luxembourg yet, or by attracting other companies to come and join the group. We have skills that are not present yet in the rest of Gumption. Through diversification, we want to be the starting point for opportunities that benefit the other countries. At the same time, we want to offer skills and services that are not covered by the Luxembourg entities.”

What are the challenges for Gumption Luxembourg in the short and medium term?

“The key to our success lies in finding the right people to join us, which is not an easy task in a world of new technologies and constantly changing job requirements. We have implemented several HR initiatives launched by Gumption Belgium. These gradually start to bear fruit.”

“In addition, we are investigating the acquisition of a company that may bring numerous opportunities for the whole group. This intention reflects our determination to boost the growth of our organisation. By the end of 2022, we would like to double our size to 100 people.”

“Once we have reached that size, it will be easier for us to strengthen our position in the public sector as well as in other industries that we are targeting.”
