Mercuron boosts and improves mobile phone signal reception in buildings and locations with poor network coverage. Among Mercuron’s customers are several hospitals and assisted living facilities. ‘Because of the current crisis, residents of assisted living facilities or hospital patients have to rely on remote communication,’ says managing partner Xavier Bracke.

‘There has been a huge increase in telephone traffic in healthcare facilities. Those assisted living facilities and hospitals that made sure there is good mobile phone coverage are reaping the rewards of this now.’

Mobile communication

In these challenging times, it’s important to stay in touch with each other, Xavier Bracke stresses. ‘We take it for granted that we are able to make a mobile phone call anywhere. Until there’s a problem. That’s when we realise how important mobile communication is to us and how much we depend on it.’

Going on site

For the time being, the technicians of Mercuron can no longer go on site to hospitals or healthcare institutions. ‘The work we do requires us to be physically present, for instance, to lay cables or install antennas. That’s no longer possible in these sectors. But we are ready to take action as soon as we get back to normal, when even more companies will be convinced of the importance of good network coverage.’

Astrid

Mercuron also delivers and installs repeaters for Astrid, the telecoms operator of the emergency services and security forces.

Mercuron’s customers include, among others, Cordeel, Fabricom, the European Investment Bank, as well as SMEs in a range of sectors, several hospitals and healthcare institutions.
