End of June, we launched the Gumption Cafés, an exclusive networking and cocreation platform for decision-makers. Our first Café welcomed 25 entrepreneurs to a debate about the challenges of e-mobility. Philippe Quatennens of FLEET TV inquired into the insights of Gabriel Goffoy (FEBIAC), Jean-Marc Timmermans (Agoria) and Peter Van der Perre (ITS.be).
Electric mobility is trending in a world where sustainability is becoming increasingly important - also for your customers and (candidate) employees. From 2026 onwards, only electric and hydrogen cars will be eligible for a tax deduction. Philippe Quatennens questioned the panellists on a wide range of topics. What does e-mobility mean for my organisation? What factors should I take into account? How should I prepare for the upcoming fiscal rules? Do I need to change my fleet policy? Can smart charging solutions help companies reduce the impact on the electricity network?
The panellists agreed on the potential of smart digital solutions to reduce our carbon footprint. "Everyone needs to adapt their behaviour, no technology should be excluded, and politicians should facilitate, not restrict," emphasized Gabriel Goffoy. "Co-creation is the key to developing innovative solutions and future-oriented legislation," concluded Jean-Marc Timmermans.
After the summer, we plan more Gumption Cafés about other burning technological and business themes. Stay tuned!
