EGHT Care: project sourcing with a healthy patient-first mentality

Jana Wuyts

Surrounding nurses and health care institutions with optimal care, that is the ambition of EGHT Care. With a high-quality pool of nurses, the Antwerp-based start-up assists healthcare institutions in their search for talent. As an experienced project sourcer, founder Bart Van den Eynde also knows that talent alone is not enough. 'EGHT Care aims to help healthcare providers to think more customer-oriented and act economically', says Bart Van den Eynde. 'That’s the key to profitable growth.'

EGHT Care wants to be there for healthcare institutions as well as nurses, a shortage occupation. ‘Healthcare institutions are having trouble finding people,’ says Bart Van den Eynde. ‘We want to help them by providing candidates with a broad skill set for short- and medium-term contracts. But our ambition goes beyond that of the traditional healthcare recruitment partner.’

Customer-oriented culture and employer branding

Nurses are energised by helping patients. With margins under pressure, financial criteria increasingly determine the corporate culture and the way in which care is provided to patients and residents. ‘This hurts both nurses and patients,’ states Bart Van den Eynde. ‘We strongly believe in a customer-oriented culture and proper employer branding. These lead to happy patients, motivated nurses, a positive brand image towards prospective employees, and optimal profitable growth.’

To meet these challenges, EGHT Care has found valuable partnerships within Gumption Group. ‘The complementarity with Branded.Careers (employer branding) and MobieTrain (microlearning) is obvious,’ explains Bart Embrechts, managing partner of Gumption. ‘But co-creation with companies such as Mercuron (mobile coverage) and CenEnergy (charging platform for electric vehicles) can also help create a profitable customer-focused culture.’

Project nurses

‘Our project nurses play a crucial part in this story,’ says Bart Van den Eynde. ‘They don’t just choose EGHT Care because they love variety. Or because, as a young professional, they want to gain a wide range of practical experience and explore which area of nursing suits them best. They also choose EGHT Care because they want to have a positive impact on their customer’s corporate culture and workplace atmosphere. We believe in cross-fertilisation. With our career progression model, we offer candidates a career perspective based on interest and ambition.’

About EGHT Care

EGHT Care in short? Project sourcing with a healthy patient-first mentality. Growth partner in the healthcare sector, as an entrepreneur and people manager. A team of driven nursing staff with passion and punch, operational from day one. Thinking and doing, focusing and moving forward. But above all: huge respect for the golden hands in the healthcare sector. EGHT Care stimulates cross-fertilisation between a team of project nurses and own staff in order to provide extra hands and optimise healthcare provision. Best of both worlds.
